Heads/Cam Gen V Viper vs. Heads/Cam/Intake E85 and Meth C6 Z06 LS7 + Procharged 840 whp 10-speed auto 2018 Ford Mustang GT
Here is our favorite Gen V Viper at work again. This time it is a naturally aspirated versus naturally aspirated domestic affair with a C6 Z06 going up against the Viper. The C6 Z06 7.0 liter LS7 V8 is well known as a stout powerplant in NA form that responds well to tuning.
It helps the Z06 is fairly light but the weight is a wash with the Viper. The Z06 is modified with aftermarket cylinder heads, a cam, intake, E85 tuning, and methanol injection.
The Viper as you know has a Heads/Cam upgrade and driver mod.
How does this one go down? Oh boy is it close. This could go either way depending on how each driver shifts. Round I is the Viper by a nose until the Z06 shuts down.
Round II is similar and door to door but the Viper lets off first this time.
There is a bonus run with a Procharged 2018 10-speed automatic Mustang GT Coyote said to be making 840 wheel horsepower. That 10-speed auto makes a huge difference and the Mustang spanks the Viper.
Awesome races.

The new 10speed mustangs are putting up some amazing times in NA and supercharged set ups.

That viper transmission is lethal. It allows faster harder shifts which can be seen in every race against manual transmission vettes. It also helps to have the driver mod to take advantage of it.
