BMW M doing what it does best - New trailer from BMW showing the 2014 F80 M3 and F82 M4 on the race track

Saying that BMW M is more interested in marketing than motorsport is practically cliche these days. BMW definitely does well with their marketing and here is their latest example showcasing the 2014 F80 M3 and F82 M4 on the race track. Basically this video amounts to professional drivers doing a few drifts with some quick camera angle changes over some aggressive music in the background. The video does not do much to show off the engine sounds or actual track capabilities of the cars. As in, style over substance.

That said people will eat this up with 'oohs' and 'ahhs' as BMW is in the business of selling a brand and image as much as a car these days. A more useful video would be seeing if the cars can actually complete a lap or two without going into limp mode in the warm desert air with the sun beating down on the tarmac as portrayed.
