Well, guess what? The guy who was supposed to start on Monday didn't show up Monday or today. So, he obviously doesn't want it.
POSITION STILL OPEN, AND I NEED TO FILL IT ASAP.
I might even entertain a front office position full time/service advisor style with cleanup duties mixed in there M/W/F. It of course has to be the right person (which i thought I found.....)
Enquire within please. I NEED HELP! WE NEED HELP! ABR NEEDS HELP! We are at LEAST 2 1/2 weeks behind in work.
We have 5 F30's right now here that need engines rebuilt back to back to back. I got one done last night, and have another one pulled out today.

I feel your pain, I have had a technician ad up on CL and other places for close to 6 months. Can never find anyone with enough experience.

You guys should contact your local tech schools...they will email you monthly graduate lists with names, numbers etc. Thats how we find diesel mechanics for my company's business. Although a new/young mechanic isn't always ideal lol

Having dealt with kids from UnTrained Idiots and "Wyo Wyo did I hire-o" while at the dealership and here at my own shop- (over 20 of them at the dealership!), I have no desire to deal with a fresh green n00b. A'int nobody got time for that!
you get 1:50 to find one that's worth their salt.
I need to find me a BMW STEP kid that hates the dealer and wants to hang out with the cool kids, and drink beer after work

5 F30s? WTF? N20 or N55? what is the reason? sorry to be OT. I'd glady take your front office position if the fam were interested in moving to that area. My 20 years military service will soon be over and it will soon be time to hang up my combat boots and start something new. I'm thinking about brushing up on my welding skills and finding a cool fab shop. I used to weld in the oil field prior to the military.
Good luck with the employee search. I'm sure when the right person gets interviewed you will both know immediately, as it sounds like quite a wonderful place to work.
