RPI E60 M5 vs F10 M5
E60 M5's modded run strong, esp when modded.
4 people in the E60 M5, not sure about mods or people in the F10, but looks like stock + heatsoak in the desert out there could have played a bad combo for the F10?

Will always hate the FI "heat soak" excuse. Basically what people are saying my car is only fast the first 10 minutes I drive it.

Turbo and heat is gonnna be the hand in hand issue for coming years, as it has always been with turbo cars.
Ive dealt with it for 6 years on my 335i, and did a lot of IAT testing, and a nice article on intakes/scoops/ full ETS intercooler IAT datalogs and testing in different temps compared to stock on e90post.
Evolve just did a nice video on back to back runs showing heatsoak power lost. in 100 degree desert heat, I can only imagine how much power that F10 would lose on back to back runs, and or a long WOT run.
Heatsoak is bad, the time to takes to recover from heatsoak, if ever to a optimal temp, is also as important.

Hmmm I doubt a exhaust and pulley will makethat much of a difference, they look they were close and the f10 let off and stopped racing, IMO at least, good vid though!

Thought this might be front page material but the yelling and the F10 letting off means no.

Yea something is wrong with this race, a full car of people walks that new m5 that much? He def let off.
I took a e60 m5 with a exhaust, last week on the highway from 60-130 by 3 cars, I was pretty surprised as was the m5 owner. He gave me the thumbs up. wish I got it on vid but I just bought a go pro.

Yea the yelling was crazy over done.. I think the F10 hit the rev limiter since after the E60 going through 3 gears, the F10 doesn't drop back like he let off, just falls back initially harder then the prior 3 gears.
Now with my full RPI exhaust and Charocal filter delete/ BMC filters/ rpi scoops, driving this car hard on the highway and doing highway rolls, really is just amazing how hard it pulls! Ive gotten really good at S6 WOT shifts now aswell.
The F10 had a full car aswell. Looks like the F10 just hit his rev limiter on the shift after almost 3 full gears of racing.
Not sure about your mods but my E90 335i N54 FBO+E85 on JB4 G5 had nothing on my M5. Esp now with my M5 with full rpi exhaust and intake work, this thing is a highway beast, my 335i would maybe keep up to 80, then the M5 would come hard!
M5 need to be well maintained (specifically spark plugs) and properly modded, as well as properly driven ( S6 in manual mode) to show there true potential. Ive met a lot of M5's with my 335i that I thought my car was crazy fast, until I got put bus lengths on by a forum members M5, few weeks later my 335i was sold lol. On my race gas or meth , my 335i can hang with my M until 120mph-130mph when my M5 was stock.
