    Need to erase car code???

Recently, there have a fault code for ect sensor and the temperature gauge was not working properly... I replaced it myself but I never delete the code, and the temperature gauge is working fine. Must I erase the code with my Mb Star C3 that I perchased at Allobd2 or can it be left there without the car running into any problems???
