Bimmer Performance Center N57 535d
We are starting to see more and more of this resurface as more N57's are hitting the markets. Back in 2016 we had a customer out of state purchase a brand new 2016 535d at the time and had it shipped to us with less than 10 miles on the odometer. This was our BETA tester to get baseline pulls and start to see what the N57 was capable of.
We performed base line pulls and it ended up making about the same as the e90 M57 with numbers coming in at 238rwhp / 405rwtq. Dyno video below.
Stage 1 Tune, all emissions still enabled.
Stage 2, DPF delete with Custom made pipe and scr filter gutted. EGR is deleted in the tune.
Stage 3, Methanol Injection Installed. We found that with the stock turbos still in place that the turbo tapers off so much boost that a progressive controller is not beneficial and therefore the gains not really able to be seen.
Stage 4, Hybrid turbo w/ meth and upgraded intercooler
The stock turbo was sent out for larger intake and exhaust wheels with proper matching of the housings and we were rewarded with a nice boost curve that was able to keep steady across the rpm band instead of tapering off. Because of the new curve the meth injection was able to help out more but more boost will still be beneficial to the N57 motor.
For max effort a new Wagner intercooler was installed and yielded another 10rwhp.
Stock graph vs Stage 4
Since last year this 535d has been daily driven with no issues. Stay tuned for more updates

From what I've been able to gather stock 535d's run in the low 14's. We are making about double the power as stock. It will be interesting to see how this 535d will do if we can get it to a track or get a hold of a Vbox.

We couldn't leave it alone. On our dyno we noticed that the intercooler was getting pretty hot and with heat a by product of power and heat can kill power we have custom fabricated a larger intercooler for our application. After the fabrication and install we were able to tell a huge difference in the temperature when performing testing on our dyno.
We started off with a core and custom fabricated the end tanks and tubes. I'll let the photos tell the rest.
Custom fabricated mounts and testing fitment of the core in stock location.
Welding up the end tanks
Test fitting front bumper
Tacking the pipes

Nice, really admire these kind of projects. Do you get 450whp from the US single-Turbo version, or did you import the twin-or tripple turbo diesel engine? Are diesel-beemers still a rare sight nowadays in NA?
Too bad we have to say goodbye to these massive engines in just a few years. On the other hand, now is also an interesting period for the winner, who's having a fairly cheap M550d along with his chicken-dinner.- '15 F10 535d LCI (eu) Spacegrau/Nappa schwrz/weiss kontur - vollausst. -

Assume that since I'm new here and replying to a 2yrs. old thread that BMW's diesel is still having a hard time getting of the lots...

Diesels aren't too popular here and Bimmer Performance Center no longer does tuning.
These guys are doing some impressive things though with the motor: https://www.bimmerboost.com/content....lot-of-nitrousBRAND NEW IN BOX 991.2 standard/non-pse SPW cat bypass pipe for sale - $899 shipped
