Porsche's timeline shows company wants 99.9% electrification of lineup by 2027
In less than a decade almost every Porsche in the lineup will be fully electric. It is a major change and one enthusiasts will struggle with. Tuning your car likely will become a thing of the past as companies are stepping up encryption and doing trial runs for preventing tuning now.
The idea of getting into your EV Porsche and telling it the destination while you relax and check out sports or news sounds nice but if Porsche meets their goal the driving experience is going to be increasingly dialed out of the equation.
Porsche EV timeline:
- 0.2% by 2019
- 1,2% by 2020
- 6.8% by 2021
- 17.73% by 2022
- 31.2% by 2023
- 54.9% by 2024
- 78.74% by 2025
- 91.3% by 2026
- 99.9% by 2027
- 99.96% by 2028
- 99.9892% by 2029
- 100% by 2030
The Germans as a whole have a goal by 2030 to phase out the internal combustion motor. Does this mean you will not be allowed to drive your classic 911 at track days? Drag race it? Modify it?
Who knows what the future holds but the Germans are betting big on electric cars.

I think combustion engines will still be around. Im digging the Taycan but starting price in the 90k's so i will pass for now. Who knows the new modding scene will be increasing battery life and going faster and pumping in fake sound?
