VP Octanium octane booster
@NJ-M4 mentioned using this on his 991 Turbo and I never heard of it before that.
Looked into it and for guys who might have trouble finding race gas or just want to add some to their tank this seems like a solid product:

Sigh VP Racing, Doubt that girl is the daughter of someone who works there. She can't even pretend to be entertained by his product brief at all times during the commercial. Hah.
Its nice it does full 8 numbers, instead of points like most other additives.
Is this MMT based? It said above that its a lead substitute, which I think is what MMT was originally made for.
When will Walmart start carrying this so I can run 102 Octane (Assuming the 94 the gas station sells me is actually 94.)
Any word on price?
I also find this product interesting, thanks for the heads upf82 M4

Tried this stuff and it didn't help with timing pull on our cars unlike the nulon pro strength, which worked a treat and about half the price in OZ
But that's on Bmw's
But with all these additives they tend to foul the plugs so you will have to pull them out every 5k for a good wire brush clean or change them

That's what I'm trying to figure out. Lead substitute means no lead, right?
Here you are: http://www.jegs.com/i/VP-Racing-Fuel...RoCvm8QAvD_BwE
So about $20 a can or so.

This might answer some questions:
Some info on MMT:
FYI:
Methylcyclopentadienyl manganese tricarbonyl (MMT) is an organometallic compound with the formula (CH3C5H4)Mn(CO)3. Marketed initially in 1958 as a supplement to the gasoline additive, tetraethyl lead to increase the fuel's octane rating, MMT was later used in unleaded gasoline. Although banned as a gasoline additive in the United States from 1977 to 1995, MMT has been used in Canadian gasolinesince 1976 and was recently introduced in Australia. It is sold under the tradenames HiTec 3000 and AK-33X.
Tetraethyl lead (TEL) has been, and still is, used as an additive to increase the octane rating of gasoline. TEL was manufactured and marketed by the Ethyl Corporation, a joint venture between General Motors and DuPont. When the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) ordered the phase out of leaded gasoline in 1972, new fuel additives were sought. Initially marketed in 1958 as a smoke suppressant for gas turbines, MMT was used in 1974 as an additive in unleaded gasoline.
In 1977, use of MMT was banned in the US by the Clean Air Act until the Ethyl Corporation could prove that the additive would not lead to failure of new car emissions-control systems. As a result of this ruling, the Ethyl Corporation began a legal battle with the EPA, presenting evidence that MMT was harmless to automobile emissions-control systems. In 1995, the U.S. Court of Appeals ruled that the EPA had exceeded its authority and, as a result, MMT became a legal fuel additive in the US. MMT is nowadays manufactured by the Afton Chemical Corporation division of Newmarket Corporation.
A bit more...
There has been a lot of myth and unfair treatment of MMT in the past two decades. Some of the posts above clearly demonstrated this fact. But in reality, MMT is still widely used today in Canadian, European, Asian and Latin American commercial pump gas. Btw, the same company supplies Shell with "V-Power gas detergent" and factory filled motor oil, tranny oil, gear oil for all new GM vehicles. This is no small garage operation.
We don't see MMT in U.S. gas stations for two reasons: 1) Congress mandates the use of heavily subsidized ETHANOL 2) MMT was subject to rigorous health and environmental reviews (in U.S. and Canada) as the most tested fuel additive in history, however gas distributors avoided it because of its controversial history even though MMT was exonerated of all charges.
It is after all A LEGAL PRODUCT so you can buy it over-the-counter as a NOS brand octane booster. MMT based o.b. will increase octane number by 3-4 points just as it has done to overseas pump gas. This is a fact!
As to whether it will damage your O2 sensors, catalytic converters, OBD-II, that is another myth. IN 1994, the EPA concluded that a concentration of 0.083 grams of Mn/liter of gas "will not cause or contribute to the failure of any emission control device or systems." In 1998 and 2000, the Canadian government said, "current scientific information failed to demonstrate that MMT impairs the proper functioning of automotive on board diagnostics system. Furthermore, there is no new scientific evidence to modify the conclusion drawn by Health Canada that MMT poses no health risk."
If MMT o.b. works out for you, financially, as an alterantive to race-fuel, feel free and dump it in your tank. It will leave an orangeish tint on your spark plugs, but that's nothing to worry about.

I didn't quite think that the product was out yet, as is the case sometimes with boostaddict featurettes Thanks for checking that though.
I think in America, outside of motorsports applications (Thats the only place we Canadians can legally use leaded fuel as far as I know) I think the sale/use of leaded gasoline and leaded additives is very illegal. What with it making people crazy and all. So yeah, Lead substitute = No Lead, but provides the lubrication and other properties of lead.
My gas station is charging 22 cents more per liter for 94 over 91. I think its up to 1.34/L now or something silly. I wonder what the cost breakdown on the VP Racing product would be, ha ha.f82 M4

BTW this product is not to be used with vehicles fitted with 02 sensors and catalytic converters so be warned
Here in Oz it also has a sticker on top of the can that not to contact with skin as it can cause cancer

Tried it in my M3, normally I run 9 psi on pump gas and 13 psi on 100 Oct. I was able to run 13 psi on 93 with the octane booster at the most recent dyno. I might have mixed it a little thin and it pulled a little bit of timing up top but still made 540 who. It works well but will eventually turn the spark plug a little red and foul the o2 sensor. From what I've read however, it takes many tanks with it to foul things up.
