Aggressive square wheel/tire setups
Finally have my car pretty sorted, aside from my dying and painfully rattling stock turbos. Will start getting out to some track days soon -- possibly this Friday with Speed District at Button Willow.
Currently, I'm running Style 513M wheels from the F8x m3/m4. 18x9 +29 front, 18x10 +40 rear, with 245/40 and 275/35 Falken RT-615k's. I'd like to fit more tire up front, and would love to be able to rotate them to be more efficient and cost effective. Since all this torque, 2nd gear power-on oversteers, donuts and canyon carving isn't helping my cause.
I know we've got a lot of high hp straight line junkies here, but wondering if anyone has gone down this twisty road. Input and info would be great.
So far, after some researching, it looks like the APEX ARC-8 can work in a square setup, sized 17x9 +35 with 255s all around. This will require some negative camber up front and a small spacer to clear the strut. Camber plates are a must. Not sure I love the look of 17s, however, but the same wheel is made in 18x9.5 +35. Ideally, I'd be able to squeeze a 265 or 275 up front with close to -3* of camber. Will roll my front fenders if there's any material up there tow work with, and I'll cut and roll my rear fenders as well so I can run a proper spacer and avoid fender contact during hard compression.
Currently I'm running on KW Clubsports, which come with their own adjustable camber top plates, however, due to its design, I don't think I can get more than -2.5* up front, even with my M3 arms. I may end up switching to the HP Autosport conversion kit and running Swift springs, 400f and 800r. We'll see.
I'm hoping this thread will be a good source of info for anyone and everyone wanting to maximize lateral grip, effectively rotate tires and remove understeer from the equation. If not just as a square setup, I could alternatively run the 18x9.5 +35 up front and 18x10 +25 out back with a 275 or 285. But with FBO e85 power and as much suspension tuning as I've done, plus the Wavetrac LSD, I don't think I'll have an issue with traction.

Here they are in 18x9.5 +35 with 275/35 RS3s. Looks like he needs more camber up front, not sure if he tracks his car or not but needs some finessing I'd say. Apparently no rubbing from this.
And lastly, here's my car as it sits now on 513M wheels, which I absolutely love.

Lol...it does look awful. I'm in for updates after your alignment. I wish the owner of the black e90 with the 275 RS3s above can chime in. Your ride looks sweet btw.

Heres my 2 cents. Depending on the camber specs you want, wider front fenders might be a better option than changing to a HP Autosport conversion kit. Reason being if the conversion requires too much camber or you might not get enough with the new setup.
