Bentley's first SUV has yet to arrive and they are already planning their second
SUV's, SUV's, and more SUV's from the VW Auto Group. You know Bentley has a Sport Utility Vehicle on the way that they have been teasing for quite a while now. That is expected to be VAG's range topping SUV but Bentley is already hinting at launching another smaller and more affordable version.
The big Bentley SUV will have a W12 motor along with V8 variants likely based on Audi's 4.0 TFSI V8 motor. Bentley CEO Wolfgang Durheimer realizes that the SUV market is expanding faster than the automotive market. He believes a smaller SUV derivative can be fit into the Bentley lineup stating, "there are other SUVs on the market that show the potential in that area. This derivative is definitely one of the ideas we have, but our store of ideas gets bigger and bigger."
Nothing is confirmed as of yet but Bentley is already open to the idea and is exploring options to increase sales numbers without having even launched their range topping SUV yet. What they are likely thinking is that they will take one of the smaller VAG SUV platforms, possibly the Q5 or Macan, and rebadge it as a Bentley.
An entry level Bentley SUV? It would be the new soccer mom chariot of choice.
