The E63 AMG is a fast car. The M156 6.2 liter V8 is a powerhouse of a motor offering big horsepower and torque but it is naturally aspirated. It also is lugging around a big car with this pre-facelift rear wheel drive E63 AMG weighing in the 4300 pound range depending on options. The Porsche 991 Turbo S weighs roughly 800 pounds less and is also rated at more horsepower with 560. With all wheel drive, a PDK transmission, more power, and less weight this is a mismatch on paper.

In practice it's even uglier than you might think. Keep in mind the M156 W212 E63 AMG is rated at 518 horsepower and runs through the 1/4 mile in the mid 12's at roughly 115 miles per hour. The 991 Turbo S is much quicker and faster than that and it shows. If this was the facelifted W212 E63 AMG S 4Matic with the M157 twin turbo V8 it would be closer especially from a stop but the 991 Turbo is still the (much) quicker and faster car stock for stock.
