HGP 3.6 liter VR6 twin turbo swapped Golf R vs tuned Nissan GTR and turbo upgraded Evo X from a roll
HGP's 3.6 liter VR6 swaps have impressed. Last week we saw one in action against a Ferrari 458 where the Golf put up an admirable fight against one of Italy's best. The two videos below show another HGP 3.6 VR6 swapped Golf in action on the highway this time against a tuned Nissan GTR and a Mitsubishi EVO X with a Borg Warner EFR 7670 turbocharger.
The first run against the GTR is very close with the Golf slowly edging up top. The second pull just seems like the GTR ends up letting off. The third run has an even start for both but again the Golf pulls up top although a bit more strongly than in the first run. The fourth run is interesting as the GTR gets a bit of a jump and opens a half car lead. The Golf has to run it down and it does pulling past decisively. Every single run shows the Golf is making more power which is no surprise considering it is around the ~750 horsepower range depending on how far HGP pushed this one.
The EFR 7670 turbocharger is a popular upgrade for the Evo X but it just does not put out enough power for the Evo X to match a twin turbo 3.6 liter VR6 Golf on the highway. Guys have hit over 500 at all four wheels with this turbo on the EVO but this car just does not look to be running that strong.
The HGP 3.6 twin turbo Golf swaps certainly look to be running strong.
