As a fairly high HP GTR owner I can tell you that I don't believe our platform can catch up to the UGR lambos; 2R kits already pack 1800 awhp - my Alpha 16 is 1600+ but that is maxxing it out. There are now Alpha 20 kits and "Little Hero 99" kits from AMS and ETS respectively - but they are "only about 1800+ awhp - which is enough to almost match the 2R.
Trouble is there is already a "3R" and the"X" kits which (it is rumoured) have made 2000-2300 awhp.
The reasons for being more than one step ahead are simple;
Cylinders - they have 10 - we have 6. More surface area to spread power and heat.
Displacement - they have 5.2 liter (without boring and stroking yet) and we have 3.8-4.4.
Gearing and RPM - MUCH more favorable to the Lambo owners as their 250 MPH top speeds show and the flexibility to max out performance and power for different kinds of events (many UR cars are geared for 1/2 mile racing specifically for those events to maximize spool).
Weight.
Time to develop platform - years more than the GTR.
I know many of the drivers personally - both from the UR and GTR camps. Dustins car (Duhawks) is in fact up for grabs as he is building a mammoth R8 that will also be drag-capable (up until now the only UR weakness - at least ET-wise as their traps have been pretty impressive). We seem to always be about one generation behind them and honestly - with all of the (trans) breakage going on right now with the GTR platform - other shops are going powerglide to keep adding the power above 2000 awhp. Either way both platforms are impressive - but the UR cars are king of the streets at the moment.

Wait til the TT Huracan's come out with DCT's as well, then it will even further the gap.

The Huracan is going to be more complex I think due to the dual injection system. Plus beefing up the DCT.
