    1/4 Mile Cobb Protune 335i

First pass i've ever made. Ran a 12.7 @ 113 mph first in the video. Second pass ran a 12.5 @ 114 mph. Don't know much about 1/4 times but, does this seem normal as to what the car should run given it only has PTF Cobb Tune? Its stock otherwise. Pretty impressed with the car's performance even though I lost the first race to a pro drag 454 S-10 full roll cage and drag slicks lol.... Sorry about my co-worker's commentary.. haha

Nice runs, 2.0 and 2.1 on first passes. Firebird International has a DA of approx 1800. Very well done.

350 HP 426 TQ St1 E85 Blend from PTF. Only modes besides that was drop in K&N air filter, if that even counts. I have never dynoed so could be more or less a little but, virtual dyno indicates the logs should be that from the tuning process.

Thank you sir. I could have probably did better with more practice. I only ran it twice because the stage lanes were crowded.

Mind if I ask about your launch technique?

    First or second gear launch?

How high did you boost the RPM?

For a reference, my best run this Summer was 12.9 at 110 with a Cobb Stg 1 Aggressive off the shelf tune (otherwise stock). I was fighting 90+ degree temps and heat soaking. I would have to wait 45+ mins between passes to hope for a clean pass. This was at Bradenton Motorsports Park. It was just before a points meet and the track was immaculate.

Honestly no special approach. I brake boosted to about 1500 rpm then launched with DTC defeated both levels and let the computer shift the car in DS mode. Chirped the tires maybe 5 decent times in first gear when the boost kicked in. Held it WOT until the finish light illuminated at the end of the track. I was pretty impressed with the times for so little mods. Hopefully the upgraded intercooler and downpipes will yield a little better results. Unfortunately I probably won't know until next winter as temps get to 118 F in the summer here. Definitely a fun daily driver.

Those are great runs, particularly since you did not employ any special techniques to achieve them.

The conventional wisdom has been to manually shift stock turbos at 6200-6300 rpm since the turbos are running out of steam and power is dropping off pretty quickly and most tunes already taper the boost down to keep the turbo RPM within limits.

Back when LM set the records, he did them with ~1.7 60' times starting in 2nd gear. Since then others have shown that it is possible to get into the 1.5x 60' times starting in 1st gear. This car was stock turbo, so it never achieved his ET or MPH.
