help with Mini Cooper jcw - what ecu or tune to use?
a friend has recently modified his 2009 jcw Mini Cooper with bigger turbo rods pistons cams etc.
no one in australia has the capabilities to tune his standard ecu.
his options given to him by a reputable work shop is the following:
remove direct injection then;
get custom intake manifold made
custom fuel rail
conventional injector set up and fit id1000
2 fuel pumps
new fuel lines
fit motec or haltech piggy back
by doing this they say the following may or may not occur:
engine light will always be on
no traction control
dash wont work
clutch assist wont work
sports button wont work
being in aus we do not have many mini specialists and no one can seem to help this guy. is there any one in usa that could help?
thanks
h

Not sure if any one in aus knows how to tune Cobb? But they may be a start

Cobb no longer supports these via access port but there are plenty of used ones on the market. From there you can use the pro tuner of your choice to create a suitable map. There are many other options but that's probably gonna be the easiest. Check out the marketplace on north american motoring for used APs. They are typically 5-700 usd
