Mercedes luxury sedan running with exotics? Yep. Renntech tuned 2013 M157 E63 AMG goes up against a 458 Italia and MP4-12C

It is getting somewhat crazy how fast the turbocharged generation of German luxury sedans is. The car you are about to witness is a rear wheel drive 2013 W212 E63 with just an ECU tune courtesy of Renntech and aftermarket air filters. That is it. Yet that is enough for it to beat down on a Ferrari 458 Italia and go toe to toe with a McLaren MP4-12C Spyder. Yes, you could potentially have three of your friends sit in your E63 and help you wave goodbye to one of the best Ferrari's ever made.

Now of course straightline speed is not all these cars are about. Nobody in their right mind would prefer a Mercedes sedan to a Ferrari 458 or a McLaren MP4-12C. That said, there is something incredibly satisfying about wiping the sense of superiority off an exotics owner face. Doing so in a big comfy sedan just adds to that.

HOLY SH!T!!! E63 runs hard. Is it unbelievable what a little tune can do. btw, is e63 on pump gas or race gas? Now I need to find a local tuned e63 (2014MY & RWD), to confirm the results. Props to Renntech.

I don't know... but I'd bet money race gas is in that tank no matter what anyone says.

The owner is on mbworld and his word is pretty reliable. Supposedly 93 octane tune with some race gas thrown in to make it ~96 octane

Here's here too and yes he's reliable and a good guy.

People always says it's a 'mix' of race gas. I know if I'm using race gas I'm trying to get my moneys worth in octane. People can come to their own conclusion.
