Audi fanboys pounce on Sochi olympics opening ceremony misstep with the perfect advertisement

The Winter Olympics are going on in Sochi, Russia and they are not exactly going smoothly. From major issues with accommodations such as bathrooms not able to flush toilet paper of even the water not being the color you expect water to be there have been some problems. The opening ceremony in an interesting twist perhaps perfectly highlighted all of these issues in a single moment when the fifth ring in the olympic symbol failed to open.

A gif below shows what happened but Audi fans quickly seized the opportunity to correlate the four open rings to the Audi brand. The result is effective and it's surprising Audi's own excellent marketing department did not think of it. Politics likely play a role as Audi does not want to upset the Russians but talk about a perfect opportunity on a worldwide stage.

Haha. Love it. I haven't watched a single second of anything even related to the olympics this year and I don't intend to. I usually watch everything I can but for some reason this year I can't be bothered. The fact that it's basically a giant glossy coat over one of the most corrupt, oppressive, and horrible places in the world really kind of kills it for me. State-sponsored happy-fun-times do nothing for me.
