Federal Ruling Allows Headlight Flashing to Warn of Speed Traps

I always flash my headlights at oncoming traffic to warn of a speed trap - it accomplishes the same thing (slows people down without them getting a ticket). Glad to see it is being upheld as legal.

If they made headlight flashing illegal they are essentially saying you can't communicate with people unless the government says it's ok. This $#@! is getting absurd.

I always remember as a kid visiting Europe flashing lights is a common practice. Funny how in the USA motorists don't help each other out and the government just wants a steady revenue stream instead of what is safe.

It's just so stupid and corrupt it's unbelievable.

I've always done that. In fact, I did it the last time I was on my way to the track. An FHP (Florida Highway Patrol) officer was hiding behind a bridge in the southbound lanes and I immediately started giving everyone the heads up. Pretty sure I saw at least a few people hitting the brakes (nose of the car dipped down a bit).
