TX Mile '13 - East vs. West Coast
The Texas Mile is this weekend (Oct 25-27th) and the "goal" is only one thing: Who can go the fastest. I figured I'd post this up for people to share some of the results.
Within the Porsche community, this event brings an interesting spin. Out of NY, Tim (Head of the HBK Crew) will be bringing his Porsche 996 Turbo that's putting down just under 1,300 WHP and was built in his garage. What's known about this car is it's utilizing a Motec EMS, twin Precision 6262s, and a built motor running E85.
Out of Cali, you've got BBi Autosport who will be bringing their Projekt King Kong 996 Turbo, putting down just over 1300 WHP. All that's known about this car is that it's using a ProEFI EMS and the motor has been built to rev out to 9,000 RPMs.
Obviously this East vs. West Coast battle will get lots of attention. Both cars are expected to go over 240 MPH, meaning a new Texas Mile Porsche Record will be set. The current Texas Mile Record is held by Eddie Bello at 236 MPH in his 1992 Porsche 964 (puts down a modest 1,250-1,300 WHP), who's most recently known for winning the Texas Invitation 2013 - 6 Speed Challenge
So if anyone is going, finds videos or pictures, Instagram, Vines, Facebook,
or thoughts on who'll win, etc -- Share & Discuss!2018 Mercedes-Benz E63 S AMG (W213)

R888 seems to be the most popular, Nitto NT555R is another big one; both are R-compound street approved tires... Then you have the "MegioN" guy with the ridic Proto-1200 997 Turbo
He runs a Hoosier R6 for the DragTimes' events; since it's NOT a street tire I wouldn't DD on it, but if you bought a specific wheel/tire setup for the airfield events it might be better suited.2018 Mercedes-Benz E63 S AMG (W213)

Both Porsches qualified for the Unlimited Class (needed to make a pass between 200-220 MPH), BBi checked in at 210 & Tim at 212. Both cars weren't running in full kill because of crosswind (and they didn't need to), so be prepared for some 220+ traps

Tim (red Porsche) says that traction in high gear is a big issue for him and he's done for the weekend. He's going to lend BBI his gearbox so that they can make another pass.

Tim hit 212 and shut it down...
Like Craig said, he lent his tranny to bbi so they could make 1 more pass because their tranny broke the prior day.
@benzy89 Tim is also running 2 FP 3586's v-band hot side. Switched out the 6262's

Yea I saw that he had switched out, def prob opened up his top end power while not sacrificing too much spool. Out of all this weekend, really shows how much Tim cares about the Porsche community that he'd lend his complete trans to a competitor.
Really excited to see his car at another high speed event in the future2018 Mercedes-Benz E63 S AMG (W213)
