    Moved to general automotive.

Not familiar with this fuel, is it their race ethanol blend?

I've tried calling VAC about it, but it's basically VP Racing's E85 formula.

IF you're gonna buy & ship ethanol based fuel, I'd recommend Ignite Racing's various ethanol options (E85/E98). Eddie Bello uses it (think he's got a sponsorship) in his Porsche, and it seems to work pretty well for him

FTW Purple is ridiculously priced ($35+ per gal) & after Terry reported some "problems" using it, I'd stick away from it until you have an E85-spec fueling setup

since we're on this topic..... I wanted to throw some E112 (85% e85, 15% leaded 112oct race gas). prob 4 gal e112 to 8 gal 93oct. after my math this is a: 60% 93oct, 35% ethanol, 5% 112oct leaded race gas. We all know leaded race gas is bad for wideband O2 sensors. BUT..... how much is bad? will 5% 112oct leaded race gas tear u my O2 sensor? will continuously running 5% 112oct leaded race gas shorten life of the $180 N54 O2 sensors?

    any expert advice?

basically all this stuff is both VP C85 and Sonoco e85-R is e85 that is ALWAYS 85% ethanol. you WILL NOT always get 85% ethanol on pumps. it varies often. With that being said, neither state what the other 15% of the fuel is. I wish they would say "it's crap 87 of course, or, it's solid 93 oct". that's why e98 is actually best. 98% ethanol and only has 2% crap gas. I'm personally gonna try renegade fuels E112 soon. 85% ethanol and 15% 112 leaded race fuel.

Prob not specific to the N54, more likely from not having a legit fueling upgrade

Not the motors fault... Having a sub-par fueling system would affect any motor, even the S65

Um the fueling system is part of the motor so this seems pretty N54 specific to me as we are well aware of N54 fueling issues. So if the fuel doesn't have issues on other motors seems to me it is N54 specific.

There is a station around here that has consistent E98 all year round. :-)

Tim runs VP C85 in his Porsche. Its basically 85% Ethanol mixed in with some race gas. (not sure what type, 109, c16, whatever)
