Thumbs up Worlds first? Midnight Blue BBS RG-Rs

    Morning, ladies & gents,

I'm a bit revved up about the wheels I just had refinished in a custom color and I figured I would share some pics. These are on my 335d.

The paint is pretty dynamic, so it is hard to capture in any 1 shot, but here are a few so you get the idea...

thanks! Lol @ dressing the tires. I like my wheels to be shiny, but it never really bothered me for the rubber to be dull Click here to enlarge ...I suppose it will now.

hard to tell, but is your badge also midnight-blue? gonna add any other blue elements?

i didn't even notice the tires, that's how good the wheels look, haha!

Haha. Yes, I had the badge painted to match. I think that's it for now; don't want to overdo it. The car will be mostly white with cf and midnight blue accents. If I get around to painting the engine bay, it will likely have some midnight blue accents as well.

Painting the badges to match is a cool touch and I dig the color of the rims but I think it would look better with the lip polished for contrast.

Thanks, Sticky. I considered the polished lips and I think it would probably look pretty good, but its just not my thing. I've always been a big volk mag blue te37 fan, so I was going for that look with some Deutschland flare compliments of BBS.

No worries we all have different tastes! And yes, it reminds me of Volks.

    Agree.

I always find when you add 'open' rims to a car suddenly the brakes look small and ugly. If you don't want to do a bbk I suggest slotted/x-drilled rotors and painted calipers. Just my suggestion.

Yes, the plan is to go to an open slot two-piece at the time of my next brake change. I may also paint the calipers...not sure yet.

It's an e90LCI Msport bumper with the reflector holes deleted and a CF lip molded on (left some of the CF exposed in the paint job).

Thanks, boost! Honestly, you may need to go a bit lighter/brighter with a CB car if you want the wheels to pop.

I picked the color because its pretty subtle and only appears bright in the direct sun, great highlights any time though (as long as they're clean, they almost glow blue). With a black ride, my fear is that there wouldn't be enough contrast--almost like wearing a black shirt with navy blue pants--but it could work.

Carbon black isn't actually black it's really dark blue maybe a shade darker than your wheels

Interesting. See if you can get your hands on a paint chip for Ford LA. This was the paint code for the wheels. Definitely LMK what you find. Could be interestingClick here to enlarge
