Dream drag race - C63 Black Series vs Aventador vs Nissan GTR vs 458 Italia vs 991 Carrera S vs GT500 vs MP4-12C + others

Now this is the type of video and comparison we dream about it. If only we had MotorTrend's resources to make it happen. In what they call the "World's Greatest Drag Race 2" (which essentially is a sequel to a similar drag race they did last year that the Nissan GTR won) MotorTrend adds some big new challengers into the mix including the Lamborghini Aventador and the McLaren MP4-12C.

The full list of cars in the video is the Ford GT500, Ferrari 458 Italia, Nissan GTR, Mercedes C63 AMG Black Series, Lamborghini Aventador, McLaren MP4-12C, Porsche 911 Carrera S, Chevy Camaro ZL-1, Subaru BRZ, and the Jaguar XKR-S. We will not spoil the video for you except say we feel sorry for the Subaru BRZ, enjoy.

Haha, love that race...SO SICK! I like how besides the Lambo, all the FI cars won...haha, kind of wish they would've put wider tires on the C63 though...would've run better...surprised at the ZL-1 too...haha either way AWESOME RACE!

The MP4-12c is a monster, it was close to the Aventador for quite a while but I'm not surprised, the last Targa Trophy was sponsored by McLaren of Newport Beach so we had 6 or 7 of them running with us and I got to see them in action, they are absolute animals! The big surprise for me was the Carrera S' performance compared to the MUCH more powerful ZL1, otherwise everything went pretty much as I expected.

Just to put this in perspective, a supercharged dct m3 can run with and beat that crowd. The aventador and mp4-12c are beasts though. Something to keep in mind as well is i do not think that mp4 has the updated tune with more power.

It's amazing that with 70 hp and around 90 ft/lbs tq less than the ZL1, their results were so close. The ZL1 is at most 200 lbs more than the C63, so you would think the ZL1 would be a little faster.

Agreed, the Porsche did great! Porsche really has that car dialed in. Good power for the low weight and a great shifting trans.

It's kind of sad for the ZL-1. I mean 6.2 liter V8, blower, and basically the same damn result?

Yeah, the Camaro guys on the Camaro5 forums discussed this a lot when people started realizing the ZL1 was not really quicker/faster than the CTS-V. I can't figure that out. The ZL1 has more power and less weight than the CTS-V. Shouldn't it trap at least a couple mph higher and be a .1-.2 quicker?

Good race, this is very sick. I wish we could do this with bimmerboost members LOL. I always expect so much more from the GT500 cause of the hp it's rated at, and damn that ZL1 can't get any slower can it. Could be hot too so who knows how many takes they might have done too.

Give the GT500 the ability for mods too.

Or raise boost on the McLaren a bit...

I'll let everyone spend a 1000 bucks and I am curious what happens... let the Gt 500 get some stickier tires and a tune, the GTR a tune and exhaust and the Aventador some straight pipes...

If I was in the Aventador I'd spend the grand on cheerleaders to root me on and massage me after the victory.

I raced a 2012 aventador yesterday on a track day, it is an amazing car but i was 3 sek faster /lap ( I had R-tyres)
I was passenger in the aventador for a couple of laps, and it is a fantastic car but a little expensive, the owner had payed 475000 dollars.
He did forget to brake once, and we went out of the track, all he said was oooppps... and then hit the gas again.
i would probely had used some more words...

great video...that mclaren is pretty damn fast considering it was right with the lambo and it was rwd..i would have thought the lambo would have had a bigger advantage with 4wd..would love to see a run from the lambo and mclaren rolling start..

and yeah i thought the zl-1 would be faster..not surprised though..with the new vette coming out soon, I didnt think chevy would have the camaro steeping on the toes of the vette..very impressed with the 911 too..

and why did they even include the br-z???

You actually hit the nail on the head, he had lend his last lamborghine to a friend of him who totaled it in a tunnel in my hometown.
