    I must say, the E39 M5 is surprisingly strong. In 2nd gear it runs away. At higher speeds, the M3 does better with its stronger top end. My feeling is that if the M3 was DCT the 2nd gear run would have a different outcome as the DCT is geared much shorter 2nd to 3rd.

    E90 started in the wrong gear if its at 40mph it should be in 2nd. And the engine would be screaming sounds to quite i dunno.

    Yes, I don't expect the E39 to pull the M3 like that from 40 mph but hey, that M5 is pretty strong for NA.
