fall event will be better anyway, there is extreme humidity these days in south florida. Humidity is actually a bigger killer of horsepower than temperature, believe it or not, so this summer's event wont showcase the true potential of the cars attending. good luck to everyone participating, i hope to join the fall group, maybe the winter one if there is one, cool temps and low humidity = maximum power.

Oddjob very true.......However, the summer is when people have the most free time compared to other seasons. Kids are out of school, parents have time to take off work, etc....we will definitely be trying to organize a fall event though!

It would be nice if it were a full mile race though, say we trap 123 or so in the 1/4 mile I wouldn't expect to go much past 140mph since you are already traveling at 123+mph...

I agree however the # of runways that are 1.5 miles long, which is the minimum distance you would need to allow for braking, are few and far between, mainly because airports with that long of a runway have very high traffic and therefore would not allow an event like this to take away from their daily revenue stream. The half is fun and much safer for heads up racing!
