What tires to get? RE-11 / AD08 / R-S3

[DD GT3 RD]

Here are the options. I believe the car has 18x8 and 18x9 rims and stock tire size is 235/40/18 and 255/35/18.

So I could move up a little in size, but I know moving to a much grippier/softer tire will make a nice difference alone. I worry if I go wider the rim isnt wide enough and with a car of this weight it will make the sidewall flex/fold in high speed cornering/tracking. So either stay stock size or go 245/40/18 and 265/35/18

-Hankook Ventus R-S3 are very cheap, I believe that the A/E Gintani Paul Walker race car run them on their car so they got to be good enough. Dont know much about them thou.

-I have run the RE-11 on the Mini Cooper S and I love them! Very stiff side wall w/ amazing turn in and this is what many say.

-The AD08 I dont know much about, hear they are comparable to the RE-11 but not as good turn in due to softer sidewall.

Yes sir! Ill be there, glad your coming out. The last event was fun! Im gonna be on my stock rims and tires, just gonna burn them out but they might be done after this event so looking at what to get next. Id like to have these for the event but no room to stash extra tires, and a pain in the ass to switch back n forth

Most people say the grip is similar between the two but the NT-05 is more affordable.

from what I read the NT-01 is much gripper "R compound" track tire and the NT-05 is a combo like the other tires I listed. I found a guy in a cayman who said he was pulled 1.05 g with the nt01 and a max of .96 with the nt05.

seems the Ventus R-S3 and the NT-05 is cheapest. I think the NT05 has a longer tread rating which I like and there is a guy who has them locally so will prob end up with those.

Anyone know where a tire/rim size chart is? I forgot what width tires are ok to run on a 8 and 9 inch wide rim

If you go a on tire rack and check out a tire's specs, it will show what size rim that tire will work with. I think that a 275 is the widest most manufactures recommend on a 9" wheel. I'm little less sure about a 8" rim, but I think that a 245 is the max. Michelin pilot Super sports are on Ebay in a 255 width for $230 each, so that might be a solid option.

Thanks. Just want to make the 245 fronts will fit on the 8 inch fronts. Pretty sure the 265 tears will be fine on 9 inch rears tires are nt05

I have the Ventus RS-3's (couldn't get the Vredesteins in time to get the tires swapped...they're backordered like crazy..still my favorites), and they've been phenomenal for me.

You should be able to fit 275/35 in the rear, 245/40 in the front without any problems, but any larger than that, and you will see stretching, and it's probably not something you want.

I ran Nt-05s and nt-01s on my last m3. The nt-01s were ridiculously loud, sucked in the wet but handled great. The nt-05s were awesome. Ran them year round with no issues. I will continue to run the nt-05s although might give toyo r888s a try. Good luck with your decision bro.
