EuroTuner compares their Project E92 M3 to the 1M Coupe around Willow Springs - Full comparison in August 2011 issue
The video here is just a small part of the comparison EuroTuner Magazine did which will be featured in the August 2011 issue. Obviously, it isn't really fair to compare a tuned M3 to a stock 1M but Willow Springs (namely the Streets) is a tight track that favors lighter cars. The M3 has a GIAC tune, H&R coil-overs, Brembo brakes, with Continental CSC3 tires. The 1M starts in front but the M3 pretty much reels it in at will.

i think its a relatively fair comparison. the mods on that m3 won't account for a whole lot imo. tires and drivers will make more of a difference imo.

Hmm, yeah, didn't expect that, modded out M3 vs stock 1M....
Was the M3 DCT? Can't watch the video yet.
Still cool to see BMW Ms on the track, where they should be.

Yup, the 1M should have a tune at least. But I still want to see the results of this.

how could this possible be a fair comparo when the m3 is the superior car to start with??? Stock to Stock on any tight track the 1m will probably win, but modded to modded even on a big track i think the 1m would shine even more, with full boltons and a jb4 you can untap north of 100hp and it will have way more tq than the m3

Well not just a tune, that M3 has suspension, brakes, weight reduction, the whole nine yards.
A tune only vs tune only on the same tires and both MT would be a fair and interesting comparison in my opinion.

This^^^
Don't know how any of you can think that those mods don't count for anything...especially on a tight track...springs, tires, brakes, lighter wheels, weight reduction.... Easily around $8k minimum worth of mods on that M3. All of which were chosen by the mag for their performance benefit.
